Our story

Hello, my name is Carol and I’m glad you’re here. I’ve always loved gardening—even as a little child visiting my grandparents in Wisconsin, I remember the gorgeous hollyhocks and gladiolas, as well as the abundance of fruits and vegetables always ready to be eaten on their farm. My husband Peter and I spent the first 15 years of our marriage in the middle of Minneapolis, but every place we lived, we found a way to include the beauty of flowers and herbs.

We moved to Pine Island in 2006, and the very first thing we did was start a vegetable garden! In 2020, after 14 years growing vegetables and only a few flowers, I realized that flowers were my true passion and began to grow cut flowers. The rest is history.  My daughter, Annabelle, came on board and, using her artistic eye, creates our lovely bouquets, arrangements, and wedding florals. Almost everything that we sell, we grow ourselves using organic, sustainable farming methods. We choose flowers that can be grown in Minnesota. Most cannot be found in grocery stores or florists. We grow blooms that have a long vase life, delicious scent, and the longest possible stems. In other words, we grow the best flowers that we can for our customer’s needs.

Our small business is named after St. Therese of Lisieux, who famously compared flowers to souls: each different but beautiful in the sight of God.  Everyone is unique and beautiful in the sight of God and our flowers help people realize that.
